We’ve always wanted to blow away a brand new Apple device.

Well, last Friday we got our chance.

As the clock struck 8 a.m., the Apple doors opened and we scurried inside to pick up the brand new iPad Mini. We quickly unboxed it, got in a few brief oohs and ahs, and then got to work.

Test #1: Submersion

A lot of people do submersion tests and they’ve always seemed like a good rite of passage, so we figured that would be a good way to start the show.

After a 10-second dunk however, we were disappointed to see that the mini wasn’t coming back on.

It was at this point, we realized that this iPad Mini would never live the life of an e-reader. It would never grow old as some kids’ gaming tablet.

There was only one thing to be done with this high-priced piece of crap–feed it to the .50.

2 minutes and 5 rounds of .50 BMG later, the mini looked a little different, the HTI was feeling satisfied, and we were feeling productive about our day.

But just for good measure (because this iPad was clearly a lemon), we made a trip back to the Apple store for a refund, before calling it quits. Check out what happened here:

Can you blame us if shooting stuff is fun? What do you want to see us blow up next?
