June MDR Update

Dear valued customers,
We had some MDR parts come in out of specification which has been sent back for rework. The rework is expected to complete sometime between June 10 and June 23. So yes the MDR shipments are delayed again. We know this is another delay that everyone is tired of hearing about but I promised you that you would have the latest information every month so that is where we are at.

If I could offer a customer service suggestion….for those who are on the pre-order list with Desert Tech and are still waiting patiently for the MDR give them a gift. A gift could be a 20% off coupon issued at the time the rifle ships. It could be for everything on your website, and at the end of the day you would be increasing your sales. Just a suggestion.

I agree with the discount, I am looking for a .308 and saw this and fell in love with it but they have not been released. Keep pushing the release date I may get a M1 and put a bullpup chassis on it. UNLESS there is an incentive to preorder!!

I have been watching and following all of the posts and I’m of the same opinion. I have and FN SCAR 17 that I will sell as soon as I see one of these shipped. I’m totally sold on the dual caliber and the bullpup style. However, I’m sensing a lot of frustration from people waiting for the rifle to ship. I have turned all of my shooting friends onto the MDR and they feel the same way. So how about doing something to get more interest going for the rifle?? Waiting—————– somewhat patiently???

With the delay once you have the parts in are you still shipping the .308 variants first then the 5.56? Or will you start shipping both at the same time?
Also I have a 5.56 Surefire suppressor, if I get the shortest barrel and put my suppressor on the rifle will I need to still get an SBR stamp or would I be OK?
Patiently waiting for Christmas in July?!!!!

Yes, the 308 orders will ship first, with the 223 orders coming later. The shortest barrel available is 16″ so you will not need any SBR bologna.

Pulled out a bit ago, would love to try it but couldn’t wait that long with a hole in my wallet with nothing to show for it. Maybe some day

I’ve had money down at Eurooptics since JUL16. I am a little apprehensive about parts needing to be reworked. CNC?

In addition to the 5.56 and .300BO, is a 6.5CM variant being considered? I am moving in that direction with my bolt guns. Better BC and SD.

I’m waiting for some user reviews before I pull the trigger on the 7.62 with a additional 5.56 swap kit. If I like this platform as much as I hope I will, I’ll be purchasing more for my boyz. But these delays are killing me. I passed on a pristine OD-Green AUG A3 M1 for $1200 because I’m waiting on the MDR. All the other bullpups in my gun safe will be sold if this MDR makes the cut. So spank those parts suppliers into shape and get this thing released.

Take the time to get it right. No compromises on quality. No recalls.

I’m with this guy. DT has had my money since day 1 of pre-order. I would rather wait another 4 months if needed than receive an inferior product.

I am very interested in a CA compliant version – it would be great for a pre-order option, I know this version will follow soon…

I might have been the first order! The day I received an email announcing the pup for sale, I paid for an order. It is frustrating to wait but knowing what the developers are going through and what the “real” margins are for Desert Tech, I am content to wait. I believe there has been or will be a price increase by the time I receive mine which compensates for interest lost, but more importantly, I will be more assured the final product has the bugs worked out and all parts are to spec…heck, for all I know DT could have used the bad parts and we would never have known the difference until they”may” have broke thousands of rounds later. No, I don’t like waiting for Christmas any more then anyone else, but I appreciate the honesty and straightforwardness of the company. C S – Richmond, Va.
