Re: More internal SA mag length!
The round count was just north of 700 when I purchased the rifle. Since then I've ran probably another 500 rounds through it myself. Not saying it won't shoot, just saying it doesn't like factory ammo. I have a few pet loads that work great but one of them is a definite single feed load.

Re: More internal SA mag length!
It shoot's ok with the 168's at mag length but when I tried to go heavier I just never could find a good node. The factory .308 barrel has proven itself to be very finicky. There is no factory ammo that I've ran through this barrel the will perform to 1/2 MOA no matter what the bullet weight. Althou...

More internal SA mag length!
I have yet to find a Short Action DTA magazine with the advertised 3" internal magazine length. I'm having trouble getting the longer bullets seated close enough to the lands. The advertised magazine length would be great but every one that I've had measured for me is closer to 2.90". And this just ...

SRS magazine depth
Anyone care to measure the ID of their short action magazine? I've read that the SRS magazines are supposed to be 3" for the small cartridges. The longest OAL I've been able to load to is 2.92" without the bullets coming in contact with the front of the magazine. 2.90" is the longest I can load to a...

Berger 185gr Juggernaut testing
I picked some Burger Juggernauts up for load testing out of my SRS, 22" original Gen 1 Krieger barrel. Although not as accurate as the 175gr VLD Hunters out of my rifle so far these aren't horrible and maybe with a little seating adjustment may actually work. The testing was done at 119 yards, with ...

Berger VLD load testing
I recently read Berger's article on VLD load testing and thought I'd give it a try. I started off touching the lands (2.950") and then subtracted .040" down to 2.830". Then I loaded the last group at the normal suggested OAL from a manual (2.800"). These are from once fired brass, prepped and neck s...

SRS bolt question
I was wandering if anyone has sent their bolt out to have the firing pin bushed? Every since I received my rifle the firing pin craters worse than a Remington 700!

Re: A1 recoil pad upgrade on SRS
I just ordered my new recoil pad assembly but think I'll just remove the tab on the pad instead of modifying the skins. The factory Gen. 1 pad didn't have the tab at the top and I think this would be a better route for me to go unless someone can explain why I shouldn't. Also another reason is I for...

Re: Serial #'s
Thanks for your time, that places my Gen. 1 just shy of the first 100 produced then.

Re: Scope mounting question
I normally use the feeler gauge method but with the scope being so high off the rail I used this instead. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=331246728104 It's just thicker versions of feeler gauges. I actually think it is designed for checking gaps on automobile body panels but that'...
