The bolt sleeve on the new bolts has a new relief cut that reduces frictional surfaces significantly so less lube is required on the new bolts.

Having the bolt head separate allows us much more precise machining for the firing pin cavity as well as provides a floating bolt head which most believe to be a more accurate setup than a fixed bolt head.

Also the tactile indicators are on the barrels just behind the muzzle, short action calibers (that use .308 bolt face) are one line. .300 win is 2 lines, and .338LM bolt face calibers are 3 lines.

I had my bolt stripped down and micro slicked. It's now smooth as and never needs lube.

Going to get jason to do that on mine as well, but I am waiting on confirmation on a PSR first, going to get Jason to do the whole thing (and the AICS custom build & HTI) in flectern, with a twist, the colours used will be AUSCAM colours, and the bolt will simply be Olive Drab, then microslicked. The barrel will be olive drab only with splotches of colour, no determinable pattern

My bolt will be slicked as soon as my covert turns up, don't want to be without a bolt if I can help it.

I have to echo what the guys are saying, While I like the new design, and it is very well done, I can see somebody dumping the contents of his bolt out on the ground and lost forever. I am nervous enough about loosing multiple bolts, if I have to worry about all those parts spilling out in the field

New SRS and psr bolts are one in the same and work in each other.

I'm sure you can still buy separate bolts for each conversion you have...

Now, there's just the option to buy various bolt heads for those of us on a budget

I like the design. You purchase caliber specific bolts if you want or go with different bolt heads. Similar to my MRAD, but have not needed it, since no barrel conversions yet available from Barrett. Looking forward to the arrival of my new SRS A1. 8-)
