That's right, NSW is better, no justification or endorsement required. I have my MRC membership and I am eligible in January for endorsement for 50BMG, just thinking of sticking with the Barrett though

I joined the MRC this year so I can shoot the come with it, don't need club endorsement as I can leave a 50bmg on my dealers licence.

The only way we an have a 50 for the HTI is if its made here in OZ, I have previously asked and was told (I think it was Nick at DTA) that they will not be exporting the 50BMG as a complete rifle or even a calibre conversion. Dam. So unless you can have a BMG barrel made here you won't see one in a DTA HTI.

Hence my comment on the Maddco barrel and armorers kit, I am 90% sure of the fact the 416 bolt is the same as the BMG. 50BMG is an ITAR restriction

416 & 50 have the same bolt face.

This thread is going to be affectionately renamed "the aussie thread" :-) If it weren't for ITAR we'd be cookin. @shadow-keep us posted on your progress...would be nice to know the HTI is being done right in oz.

I think it should be the Aussie board, seems to be more of us here than anyone else, well that and we have a couple of sheep shaggers from across the ditch
