Hi guys,
The build i stared in May last year is almost done. I had PacNor make me a 30" 12 Twist 308 barrel and after a long wait the profile was wrong when it turned up. They made a replacement and it arrived on monday. I spoke to my gunsmith and he said if i drop all the bits off i will have it back in 2-3 weeks. Fingers crossed!!!
Our F Class (not F/TR) requires us to use only 155gr projectiles. I should have ordered a second barrel in 10 twist to use in F/TR with 185gr projies, might be the next one.

Re: 308 F Class barrel
Well it wasn't 2-3 weeks, I got the call from the gunsmith saying he has finished my 12 twist 308 barrel.
Pics to come....

Re: 308 F Class barrel
I am waiting on a custom 30" Maddco barrel from Interdiction Logisitcs the DTA dealers in AUS. They made 3 which are profiled to the other DTA barrels fluted and milspec black. Hand Lapped for 155gr Lapua Scenars.
Would be interested to know how you go with your Pacnor in F-Class as I will be competing int TAS F-Class Standard with mine.
What sort of Bi-pod are you running for competition ?
Cheers,
Dips

Re: 308 F Class barrel
Dips,
I run the atlas bipod as pictured (or with the spikes in) but I put the bag rider bar on the rear end. I have a plate for the front so I can run it over a pedestal but I have only done that for load development so far.
I've only put 20-30 rounds through it to run in and chrono. I'm into the mid 2900's with 155 nosler cc and 2208. I was going to spent the time this week but my covert turned up Tuesday and it's the only thing I have shot all week, 100 rounds so far. I'm going to run the covert at 600 yards with 178gr amax tomorrow to see how that goes. If I get time to load some 155's in the morning I will put some through this barrel.
I decided to go a heavier profile for my other custom barrels, where it steps down I run it parallel to the muzzle.
