dtanut,
Your missing out on the fun of developing an upclose and personal relationship with your DTS. Grab a lb of each powder and a pack of 100 of each and go out there and try some various loads. I personally work a matrix of gradually increasing powder on one axis and different seating depths on the other. I use 3-shot groups (yes I know but the data works for me). After you shot quite a bit you should have acquired a great feel for your firearm (assuming your practicing your breathing, position, and trigger action), and you should have some very clear data to what your specific weapon likes. A few thousandths change in bullet seating depth can make my rifle go from a .18 MOA @ 100yds to .30+ MOA. So does +/- 2 grains of powder.

But to answer your question, Varget and Reloader 15 are both great powders. The Sierra manual says Reloader is better. I actually found a different powder that worked better than either of those for my specific .308. Now my little .223 loves the Varget over anything else out there. Again, each rifle has it's own harmonic you get to figure out. That's the fun part. I love whipping out my $1200 .223 that shoots .16 MOA @ 100 and show up those boys who have the big stuff. Kinda like bringing an 870 pump to a trap shoot and shooting 25s all day long. Gotta love it!

Enjoy!

dtanut,
O yeah, if you don't like spending the time behind the bench, that's ok. Go find some good ammo; try various brands and bullet weights. Then when you find something you are satisfied with, buy a bunch of the same lot number.
