The 6-24 has enough elevation to get a 308 way out there.

My SRS has a 30moa mount and with a 50m zero (pistol club range) I have 80moa left in the turrets. When the turrets run out there is another 20moa in the reticle at 24x. That's more elevation than you need for a 308. The 8-32 scope has 30moa elevation in the turrets but still enough for a 308.

Finally had time to have the Covert .308 Win optics mounted and bore sighted by a Colorado Springs gunsmith along with eye relief adjusted so when I finish reading the FINE manual for a 3rd or 4th time I'll venture to one of the area ranges with 200-300 Federal Match Grade 175 boat tail rounds and try to understand mil-dot/MOA/elevation/windage at 100 yards and hope there's a benevolent soul with plenty of optics experience that can at least put me on the paper on my first outing here in Colorado. I'll post pictures of the Covert with Sightron III 8-32X 56 scope, GGG bipod and SRS Covert as soon as I can find a camera since we moved recently. Thanks for your suggestions/support.

Cheers,

Agreed with Dogtown 15x - 20x is perfect. Above 20X is mirage city!

I spend a lot of time at 25x.

No way would I stick a 5-25 on a covert though. That should almost be a sin!

Russ, pm sent. If you send me the pic I will post the pic for you.

I rang the dealer last week and they said pushed the delivery date forward to just before Christmas. Fingers crossed I have it but I am not holding my breathe.

looking great russell. and yeah that bipod IS larger than life!

fyi--the forum actually doesn't let anybody upload photos, but you can use the "Img" button up top and then input a URL of where an image is already located online between the 2 tags...
