Caribou Hunt in Alaska!

Post by Shooter Dan »

Had the opportunity to go caribou hunting in Alaska, August 19-31.

Great trip. For being a new shooter, it was even more incredible! If you haven't seen it yet and are interested, check out the video recap:

Any other brags yet from this hunting season?

wow man, this guy looks great. That would be an impressive snag at 200 yards...

I reviewed your Alaska hunt before starting my own in the first week of Sept. 2013. I used the SRS Covert .338LM with the NightForce 5.5-22x56 scope and got this nice bull at 308 yards. I made a good shot with the 300gr Berger bullet and it didn't run, but didn't fall either; so I chambered another round and made a second good shot. He tumbled over at that point and the real work began!

Thanks for a great shooting platform. I'm looking forward to finally getting my suppressor; especially since NC just legalized hunting with suppressors this year.
