Just thought I would let you guys have some feedback that I have heard from others, and some of my own, firstly it is unclear as to whether international entries are allowed, and if they are, some places such as Australia the suppressor may not be allowed so there fore what happens there if they win that item, or the calibre conversion for that matter.
Secondly one of the sore points is that ALL the images become your property, now whilst I can understand this from a marketing/business perspective if I have a photo, of lets say a trophy stag that I submit and I want to use it for something, I no longer own the rights to it, you do so I cannot enter it in any other competitions, or alike. Now I can perhaps understand this for the three winners, as they are being "compensated" through prizes for their images, but the others are not.
Thirdly the calibre conversion, now this is from my point of view, and let me be clear about this I have not and am not going to enter because of my second point, but under the hypothetical I did enter and I won the calibre conversion would negotiation be entered into onto the conversion received, this is because myself and others I know (although they are not DTA owners, YET) shoot only certain calibres, to be precise 223,308, 300WM, 33LM and a couple are now shooting 6.5x47Lap as such the Norma conversion would not be particularly useful to people who follow this system of only using "common" calibres amongst a group, F Class shooters for instance.
Fourthly (and not related the competition per say) and again speaking only for myself, if I post a picture on the forum here, or anywhere else for that matter so long as I am asked, in general (there are some photos I do not allow to be used, but they are few and far between) I do not care if its used for commercial purposes or anything else, all I have ever stated and/or asked in return is that I retain copyright and I am given credit if asked about it (so nothing like a watermark on the photo itself, just if someone asks who's photo it is, they are told its mine). Others may or may not agree with this, but I have always operated that way, obviously on occasions people have wanted copyright to images and in that case we normally settle on a price but there have only been a couple of those.

Re: Photo Competition
Shadow,
Thanks for the email and the honest feedback. You raise up some good points.
1) You are correct, we didn't specify whether international entries were permitted. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the prizes, contest winners would be limited to the U.S.
2) This is very true. We worded that poorly. In reality, we really don't care if we "own" the photo, as much as we just want to be free to use and distribute as much as we would like, and not be infringing on another's copyright. Due to #1, I'm not sure if it matters to you, put I will update the wording on this.
3) For this contest, unfortunately there aren't any alternatives to the prize giveaways (conversion kit, silencer, or ammo). True the .338 NM is likely a less commonly shot caliber, but that is what we have to give for this contest. Once again, not sure if it matters due to #1 and #2.
4) I should probably add something in the terms and conditions of the blog/forum that indicates that photos and or testimonials can be used by DTA if we want to.
Great points and apologize for the shortcomings in communication, but do appreciate you mentioning these so we can change it up...

Re: Photo Competition
All good Dan, Happy to help. At least you are responsive to the issues as against most other companies out there, cannot learn from "mistakes" so to speak if they are not brought to your attention
