3080 Yards... UK Style.

So after shooting our 3080 yard group this last winter here in UT, Gerald and Ewen and a bunch of the UK DTA crew got together and decided to do their own 3080 yard shoot.

although they were foiled by the weather, they still got out and had a great time. And the show will definitely go on. 3080 with DTA will happen on European soil...perhaps even a tighter group to show yankees up...

rumor has it they have been invited out to do it with the Czech guys here in a couple months so we'll see.



In the meantime though, they did a really thorough tech writeup of the shot they were putting together--ballistics, environmentals, etc.

It would be great to give it a go here in Australia but i dont own a HTI so its not something i can do. I have a new property where i think i can get around 2kms but thats only 2187 yards.

If the fun police knew that someone or a system was capable of 3080 yards here in Australia then laws would be passed over night so it could never be repeated and we would be back throwing spears.

When I (get off my arse and) organise my HTI, between us (should get Jase involved) we should find a spot, and do it, if you feel as though your up to the shot then we should do it.

Dan; perhaps we should try to get it organised so that a DTA is the first to get confirmed hits at a known ELR target on all continents , who's up for Antarctica??

great suggestion! If the guys do it in Czech and you guys do it in AU, we'll have 3 down. Actually been in contact with Guinness USA about getting some official records down on paper.

Not sure i am capable of the shot but willing to give it a go!!!

I am heading down to eagle park on friday morning to help a guy set up his HTI so i will see how nice they are to shoot then, if they shoot they they feel its going to be a fun morning.
