More Handguard Options

Post by dogtown »

Having the Covert and SRS handguards be easily interchanged as been a huge benefit, however I'd like to see some more options available to further customize the SRS:

- slim non-railed handguards of different lengths

- carbon-fiber option

- slightly larger diameter version that will allow a suppressor to fit inside

Would be a good idea that KeyMod, had thought of something similar myself, although I do not have the machine skill to implement it, good to see it happening

I have an idea for the forend:

A tubular forend with the smallest diameter possible. I'm thinking around a 1.5-1.75" inner diameter. This will greatly enhance the feel of the weapon, reduce weight, and allow rails and accessories where the end user needs them.

Here is the real pro for the end user. Make the forend at the covert length, but add threads to the inner diameter on the end to accomodate extensions in various lengths that match up to common barrel lengths.

A system like the Noveske NSR or Troy Alpha with extensions to make the tube rifle length would enhance your rifle, make it even more modular, and probably grow your business.

Having an accessory top rail extension that raised the rail height slightly and extended out past the coverts forend an inch or two to accomodate NVDs may also be worth looking into.

Don't say that now, I ordered a covert soi didn't have to change for ends.

Seddo, DTA has a habit of making upgrades backward-compatible to older rifles... that way you don't have to come out of pocket in a huge way to get the benefits of the upgrade.

It wont matter if they come out with it, i will have my covert by then. I dont like the chances of me selling a DTA even if i have a second one!!

In the same situation Seddo, considering the PSR, but do I sell the SRS or do I keep it, its another 3000 in optics if I keep it as I would need another PMII
