Magazines without Shoulder Retention Feature

Post by dogtown »

For those of us doing conversions for cartridges that don't fit the magazines very well, it would be nice if there was a magazine option without the shoulder retention feature. It's a great feature, but some cartridges won't fit the mags because they taper towards the front of the mag. Having a broad taper forward would give shooters a bit more latitude with cartridge options. As it stands now, we just have to single feed.

I modified my 308mag (spare mag of course) to take my new 375 conversion. Needs a tidy up but feeds well. Yes it's pretty butchered but it was more a learning experiment than a finished product. I will buy another mag and not use clubs and stone axes on the next one. I have made a new follower from a nylon block already.

Well done. You can see my point, right? It's almost like having a magazine blank available as an option.

What we need is the 308 mag bodies (the shoulder is further forward than the LM mag) before they weld the spacer in the back of them. That way we could make what we want with them.
