I'd love to see numerous and different barrel options one day.
The selection now is good and varied, but it would be cool to be able to shoot a .223, .204, .22-250, .30-06 and more.
I know this takes engineering miracles, but who knows, maybe someday.
And I do have an SAC barrel. Mark Gordon is GOOD!
Thanks.
Wishfully, Mike
More barrel options
Re: More barrel options
Best we can hope for currently I think is the SAC 223 conversion
Re: More barrel options
We've got 22-250 barrels for sale already. More unique conversions to follow.PSYOPS wrote:I'd love to see numerous and different barrel options one day.

I think it would be damn hard to get a 223 conversion to feed properly.
Re: More barrel options
Now you tell me, what twist did you settle on?
Please don't say it's a 7 twist as that's the barrel I'm in the middle of getting made up.

Re: More barrel options
Where can I get one of these conversions Orkan, certainly interested
Re: More barrel options
Nope, we are building coyote slaying coverts! 14 twist. We're launching 40gr nosler ballistic tips at well over 4100fps out of a bone stock 22-250 that isn't hot-loaded.Seddo wrote:Now you tell me, what twist did you settle on?

Obviously we can get you barrel lengths to whatever dimensions you prefer... My personal DTA Covert is setup with a 20" 22-250 running 40gr noslers through a YHM titanium 5.56 suppressor.
To say it is THE thing for coyote hunting is possibly the understatement of the century. I have the shortest suppressed coyote rig in the country, I assure you.
I have one more 22 cal Benchmark blank contoured for DTA on hand right now ShadowPeo, It's yours if you want it. Will take us a bit to chamber it up and such. Pricing will depend on what you want done. Bare barrels chambered and crowned in a short action caliber start at $1250 including barrel extension. Also, we've never shipped to kiwi-land before... so I'd have to research what shipping would cost.
The Benchmark barrels are absolutely outstanding. I've shot some groups in the .1's with my 22-250. We had Benchmark do a custom contour for us, so it's basically a modified heavy sporter contour, and we can do finish lengths from 26" on down.
Re: More barrel options
I just threw a couple barrels on the scale.
A 26" 338LM DTA barrel which is chambered and threaded with barrel extension is over 1.5lbs heavier than one of our blanks that isn't chambered or threaded, and is at 28" in the white.
So basically our conversion will save over a pound and half over a standard contour. Perfect for hunting... but don't expect to get uber-long strings of fire without some wandering.

Re: More barrel options
Does the 22-250 feed from the standard DTA magazines?
Thanks
Thanks
Re: More barrel options
Yes, but it doesn't eject worth a shit. The case is too narrow, so the ejector plunger is already almost fully extended before the case comes out of the barrel extension. My 22-243 wildcat runs flawlessly however.
Re: More barrel options
I'm heading o the range in a few hours with 40 rounds to fireform into 22-250AI so I will let you know how it goes.
