Barrel Run In

Hi Guys,

just picked up my DTA SRS A1 in 6.5 x 47 & 338 Lapua. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions specifically for running in the DTA barrels ?

Also wondering if anyone knows of any good portable gun vises for cleaning barrels once removed from the gun whilst at the range ?

I ran my covert in with 4 x 1 shot clean followed by a 2 shot clean, 3 shot clean and then a 5 shot and clean. After that I fired about 40 shots and finished with a sub .25moa group. Like my other dta barrels they don't copper up and are very easy to clean.

I font it easier to clean them in the rifle with the dta bore guide, I tried it in a vice wrapped in leather and it was awkward to clean.

Thanks Seddo, Good info. I wasn't too sure about the DTA bore guide but will get hold of one. Well worth it when i have 3 barrels to run in !!
