BUTT PAD
Re: BUTT PAD
Hi Smithy, thanks for your question. The A1 butt pad does not fit the original stock. You would need to update the stock panels on your rifle to fit the new butt pad. The problem that you may run into is that the new stock panels don't fit on older receivers. If your receiver has not been milled to accept the A1 adjustable cheek piece then it will not be able to be fitted with new stock panels and subsequently will not fit the A1 butt pad. Receivers made within about the last 2 years should be milled to receive the new A1 stock panels.

bummer

I want to get mine Milled, I am hoping there will be "instructions" for smithies to be able to mill the recievers for those of us who want to convert
DT SRS MkII Rubber Buttpad
Hi, I have the DT SRS MkII, unfortunately it was issued with the solid buttpad which feels very hard and uncomfortable to shoot.
At a recent gun show I visited the DesertTech stand and saw several SRS fitted with solid and rubber buttpads. I asked the DT representative if the buttpad assemblies were interchangeable and they said yes and demonstrated by sliding them on and off the different SRS's.
I would like to replace my solid buttpad with a new rubber buttpad but don't know if I need to order just the buttpad or the buttpad assembly which contains the spacers and butt release mechanism.
Is the new SRS rubber butt release mechanism a better option and does anybody know the part numbers of the buttpad components that fit my DT SRS MkII?
Cheers

Re: BUTT PAD
I cant put the rubber butt from my A1 Covert on my SRS.
Re: BUTT PAD
Could you elaborate? I've seen the rubber buttpad easily slide onto my SRS MkII.Seddo wrote:I cant put the rubber butt from my A1 Covert on my SRS.
Re: BUTT PAD
My SRS has a different release mech on it compared to the new A1 Covert. The spacers on my SRS are screwed together where the covert the spaces are separated by a lever on the bottom.
Here are the pics of my SRS butt mount:

Re: BUTT PAD
It almost looks like removing the release mech on the SRS would allow the A1 mech to work
Re: BUTT PAD
You can remove the Gen I metal latch and spring and the new buttpad should snap on ok.
