vman is getting an A1 in the near future, should try an organise a "DTA" shoot at little river, get all the DTA owners together for a day of shooting, I know of another couple, one being Hally, question is how do we get the word out there. Prehaps line it up with one of the MRC tactical shoots so those of us who are MRC members can shoot that on the day as well

Good idea on the MRC shoot, I haven't shot one since I joined. Halley is the only person (other than you)I know with one Victoria.

I must say I was very supprised, the recoil was nothing like I would have ever expected, there was no sharp kick or pounding force on my shoulder, it was just a push. The muzzle brake from Grizzly Gunworks really did the job, I'm glad I went for their ultimate brake not the standard one they make for the DTA.

One thing it was more of a boom than a quick snap bang (its hard to explain). My mate couldn't make it to film the first fire so hopefully next time then.

Anyone who does get a conversion that DTA doesn't make I would recommend Mark from Short Action Customs, great work and a no BS guy.
Curious to know if you ever got back out and got some video...or at least photos/groupings...

Went out yesterday but only took out the 308 kit, some ranges get a little unhappy when you turn up with anything bigger than 8mm. Nice place and has an 800m section.

its stupid, because its based on the 8mm Mauser and not power of cartridge, its a hang over from WWI era when the biggest cartridge in "common" use was the 8mm Mauser. the 300WM which as we all know is only 7.62, therefore well under the cartridge size is way more powerful than the 8mm Mauser which the 8mm rule is derived from, therefore poses more risk than some of the other cartridges such as your safari cartridges which are well over 8mm but have the ballistics of a brick

i am pretty happy it doesnt snow here, it woudl be annoying. I spent a few weeks in Denver and it showed a few of the days, it was bloody cold and made driving around weird for me. That looks like some of the f class ranges in Victoria as well.
