DTA and Kahles partnership - Sneak Peek
Re: DTA and Kahles partnership - Sneak Peek
We have K6-24I scopes in stock now but the AMR reticle is still being prototyped and won't be released for at least 60 days more. Unfortunately we had to make some final tweaking to get things right on it but good news is it will be right when it comes out.
Re: DTA and Kahles partnership - Sneak Peek
Any word on the rest of the features I had suggested earlier in this thread?
Re: DTA and Kahles partnership - Sneak Peek
Oh, and I'd really love to see a low magnification through-the-scope shot of this reticle. Down at 6x, and maybe again at 12x?
Re: DTA and Kahles partnership - Sneak Peek
You guys should look at the tooless zero stop used on the March scopes. I absolutely love them being so simple to use.
Re: DTA and Kahles partnership - Sneak Peek
Thanks Nicholas.
I've read through this whole thread and you guys have some neat ideas. Thing is...DTA is a rifle company. Not a scope manufacturer. I gotten to handle the Kahles and they are a very fine optic. Excellent construction and clarity. But if you guys want to see some of these super options, I suggest emailing your ideas straight to Kahles or your preferred optics manufacturer. Getting a custom reticle is one thing, but a full redesign and implementation of these ideas is a whole other. I'm not saying that anything here is a bad idea. Just that it's more than what a relatively small rifle company can ask for from a large (and VERY old/respected) optics company.
Just my $ .02

P.S. If you're looking for a scope that will dial elevations quicker than anything else, look into the Nightforce BEAST. That thing is neat. Not my cup of tea, but neat.

Agree that the BEAST has some good features, but will wait for the Kahles/DTA collaborative reticle before buying anything. Some of the new S&B reticles look interesting. Damn it's hard being patient!
Re: DTA and Kahles partnership - Sneak Peek
I don't see how having to manipulate 2 different things is faster. That whole lever thing is cute, but NOT intuitive. Regular MTC turrets are fast. Tough to see how it's a good idea to have to run a turret, and then a lever.db_17_85 wrote:P.S. sib- You and me both brother. I've been wanting a Kahles ever since they re-entered the US tactical market. I was just never a fan of their reticles. I fell in love with the DTA reticle but learned at SHOT that they're also bringing the MSR. Tough choices ahead!
Orkan- My comment was in regards to the 20mil/rev. Personally, I don't care for lever either. It was more pointed towards those who wanted a push-button RTZ anyhow.
Overall, I'm excited to see what the final reticle looks like and especially interested in the final illumination pattern. It's a good (albeit expensive!) time to be hunting for optics. There's so many great choices these days.

Re: DTA and Kahles partnership - Sneak Peek
Glad to hear they're bringing the MSR reticle too! Great news, but just makes me more inpatient to see it. Also like the BEAST with the MILR reticle. Lots of great options out there now!
Re: DTA and Kahles partnership - Sneak Peek
I do not like the lever on the BEAST scope either, just leaves room to screw something up especially in low light. Now you have to think about if your are even or odd numbers as you turn the dial. The idea was borrowed off the old Unertl scopes.
