optics for covert if I want to try to be able to mount NV

So, has anyone had any luck finding a suitable optic for the covert that will allow mounting a NV device forward of the scope on the short covert foreend?

I've seen the SB PMII ultra short - not sure if that is short enough. And I'm not all that impressed with the reviews of it, either.

Any other ideas?

Saw a Covert paired with a Leupold Mark 6 3-18. It looked good on the Covert and the owner said NV fits in front of it. Not sure what NV he was using.
