I've been keen to try to do one of these courses but after getting in contact tommy Alexander from sniper country was told that unfortunately there isn't an approved course that non US sitisans can do but mabey in spring as they are trying to get one aproved so what kind of interest is there from the Aussie boys and the nz boys
Ps long time long range shooter new dta srs owner ...3 months now after 9 months of saving and 4months waiting but first time forum join in .......be gentle
I have done some courses locally, but I would be interested in doing one over in the US, but due to my work schedule I will not be able to commit to anything especially at that time of year, the only time in the year I can definitely get off is Christmas, however I know I will be in the US in August/September 2016 but that is several years off clearly
Yea I have a feeling it may be 12 months or more till its up and running if it passes the first time in spring as they don't want to train us outsiders too much but by the looks of things it would be pretty awesome I need to save up anyway and I'm not sure if we need our own weapon tho I would say so
I suppose I can understand not wanting to train outsiders as you stated, however given the Australian/US relationship I don't see as it being a problem, not wanting to instruct those from the middle east, or other nations with possibiliy of becomming hostile to the US, I can fully undestand that that I most certainly condone, but I do not see that being an issue for those of us in Aus/NZ/UK etc.
I know you can do it with reasonable ease, but one thing I do not look forward to is getting customs and DoD clearances to take the firearm to the US and bringing it back in, let alone the permissions from the airlines. If I do, do it I will buy ammunition over there though rather than take my own
yea i would definatly buy ammo over there but it will probably be too hard to load your own over there unless you can find some one simpathetic with a press and just take your dies prob try to get some DTM rounds but it sounds like it will be like trying to find hens teeth might be better closer to the time as were talking a bit of a wait i also offerd to get a full on federal police check but i was told it wouldn't make any difference. as you said ShadowPeo its not like were much of a thret as we usualy blindly jump in were ever the US gose but ill be interested to see what they change to make it "outsider frendly"
For us to train foreign nationals we have to get state department approval, they review the course content and review the attendees background information prior to approving you to come train. We will get this up and running but it takes time to get international training setup.
