Trasol Privacy Policy

This document states Desert Tech’s privacy policy for the TRASOL ballistics calculator app. This policy applies to information Desert Tech collects through your use of TRASOL. IT IS NOT A CONTRACT.

Account Information:

TRASOL allows you to create and sign into a Desert Tech account. To buy from Desert Tech, you must provide contact information (like name and shipping address) and financial information (like credit card number, expiration date). We will use your account information to fill orders placed by you and bill you for them, to communicate with you about your orders, and for similar uses internal to Desert Tech. We may use your email to notify you of specials, new products or services, or changes to this Privacy Policy. We will use your name and address on packages shipped to you. Except as needed for shipping, WE WILL NOT SHARE YOUR ACCOUNT INFORMATION WITH ANYONE.

Ballistics Data:

TRASOL allows you to input ballistics data, including data about the firearms and cartridges you use, atmospheric data, and your ballistics results. TRASOL uses this data internally to calculate the projectile’s trajectory. TRASOL also allows you to use your account to upload your ballistics data and access it from multiple devices, and as a backup to protect your data from loss. Desert Tech may import your ballistics data to a separate database, and use your ballistics data, WITHOUT your account or other identifying information, to expand and improve the TRASOL ballistics database and to refine the TRASOL program. WE WILL NOT SHARE YOUR RAW BALLISTICS DATA WITH ANYONE. WE WILL NOT SHARE YOUR ACCOUNT INFORMATION WITH ANYONE.


We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via TRASOL, your information is protected both online and offline.

Your online account and other sensitive information (such as credit card data) is encrypted. You can verify this by looking for a closed lock icon at the bottom of your online account page, or by noting the "https" at the beginning of the web address.

We also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) have access to your account and other personally identifiable information. The computer drives on which we store this information are kept in a secure environment.
