Desert Tactical Getting Some Media Love
Thanks to all of you spreading the word about DTA, we’ve gotten some impressive media coverage over the last couple months–across a variety of platforms.
While DTA has always had a loyal following of core enthusiasts, it has been fun to see more and more people starting to show interest!

FUNKER TACTICAL’S SHOT SHOW FEATURE
The Funker Tactical YouTube Channel combines the informative with the incredibly beautiful, in a genre of gear review fusion that doesn’t exist anywhere else! In the weeks following this year’s SHOT show, they posted this really cool look at the new SRS A1 chassis, narrated by Derek Pennington (Retired RAF).
We look forward to collaborating with these guys on future videos!
TACTICAL NEWS MAGAZINE
We were recently invited to be the spotlighted to be Tactical News‘ “Fire Test” feature in their special IWA edition. They ran a great article about the Covert called “Good Things Come in Small Packages.”
Although TNM is a relative newcomer to the U.S., it’s had solid readership in Europe for a while. Covering topics ranging from international conflict updates, firearms regulations, first looks at new guns and gear, operational procedures, spotlights on specific SF units and more. It really is the all inclusive digest for today’s rennaisance tactician.
Tactical News Magazine is also in partnership with U.S. based firearms media production company Guns & Tactics.
FLASHBANG
Flashbang’s Spring 2013’s edition featured the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s SWAT team, and along with it, some great photos of one of their SRS rifles.
This publication is STUNNINGLY beautiful, and not cheap, but it came out really nice. Be sure to check it out if you can!

SHOOTING TIMES
Although not the direct subject of the article, our SRS and Sniper Country Training facility got extensive photo coverage in Shooting Times‘ recent “Sniper” edition. An article titled “Getting Hits in The Field”, covers practical field shooting positions for snipers. Big thanks to Richard Mann, Sean Utley and the folks at Shooting Times for putting this together.
BLADE HQ
Utah based knife mega-distributor Blade HQ featured DTA rifles and DTM ammo in one of their field test videos they recently released. Blade HQ does a great job of “telling the story of how knives are used” through their videos, and in this video, they teamed up with us for a day of target shooting and glassing for coyotes in the Utah Desert. Big thanks to Ben and the crew over there! They bring a lot of value to a closely related industry.
SCOTT DW
In a break from traditional coverage we get, the Desert Tactical Arms HTI made a brief cameo in a recent pop YouTube video. Viral sensation Scott Winn included the HTI in a handful of shots during his recent vid about a Russian destroying “winter” (i.e. snowmen). The video has received close to 500,000 views in its first week–not too shabby!
It was a lot of fun seeing the HTI get to be a movie star, and equally fun getting to wow Scott’s crew on set with the HTI. Thanks guys!
FPS RUSSIA
Last, but CERTAINLY not least, our good buddy FPS Russia gave us some love yet again in his latest vid–his own little “mythbusters” style take on blowing up propane tanks with Raufoss rounds. Silly as always, Russian accent as always, and as always, “have nice day.”
Also On The Horizon
It’s too early to officially announce anything just yet, but we’ve also caught wind of some bigger productions showing some interest in using our rifles (1 big screen movie in particular that would be really cool to see), so we’ll see what happens. As soon as we hear something, we’ll let you know.
