Warranty Coverage

Firearm Warranty Coverage

Desert Tech warrants that its unaltered firearms, conversion kits, and barrels sold within the United States and Canada ("firearms") are free from defects in material and workmanship for the life of the firearm, regardless of ownership. 

Non-Firearm Warranty Coverage

  • Desert Tech Accessories – Lifetime warranty covers suppressors, magazines, scope mounts, muzzle brakes, handguards, and monopods.
  • Ammunition – Covered for one (1) year from purchase.
  • Soft Goods – Covered for ninety (90) days from purchase (slings, soft cases, operator kits).
  • Third-Party Products – Optics and bipods are not covered by Desert Tech. Contact the original manufacturer for warranty support. 

Product Registration

Registration is not required to invoke the limited lifetime warranty, but it is encouraged. Registering your firearm helps Desert Tech notify you of updates, recalls, and other important information. If you have not registered your firearm, you will be required to do so when making a warranty claim.

Proper Maintenance & Usage

Firearms are precision tools designed to operate safely with Desert Tech original parts. You are responsible for ensuring all installed parts are correct, properly installed, and unaltered. Improper assembly, use of modified or incorrect parts, or failure to maintain the firearm can result in malfunctions, damage, injury, or death. Desert Tech is not responsible for any resulting losses.

Desert Tech will repair, replace, or exchange your warranty covered products with an equivalent item if necessary, at Desert Tech's discretion. 

Warranty Exclusions

Desert Tech’s Limited Lifetime Warranty does not cover:

  • Firearms sold outside the U.S. and Canada
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage due to improper maintenance
  • Barrel obstructions, misuse, or abuse
  • Unauthorized repairs, modifications, or aftermarket parts
  • Use of high-pressure, reloaded, remanufactured, or non-standard ammunition
  • Consequential damages, including personal injury, property damage, or out-of-pocket costs
  • Any required BATFE taxes or fees

Desert Tech excludes the implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose.

Aftermarket Modifications & Liability

Adding aftermarket accessories (e.g., suppressors, triggers, muzzle devices, stocks) modifies your firearm from its original configuration and may void your warranty. Desert Tech disclaims responsibility for any damage caused by aftermarket parts. If an accessory causes damage, contact the accessory manufacturer.

How to Make a Warranty Claim

  1. Contact Desert Tech – Click here to file a warranty claim.
  2. Obtain an RMA – A Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and shipping instructions will be provided.
  3. Ship Your Firearm – You are responsible for shipping costs to Desert Tech.
  4. Inspection & Repair – If a defect is confirmed, Desert Tech will repair or replace the firearm at no cost and return it via ground shipping.

  5. Non-Warranty Repairs – If the issue is not covered, Desert Tech will contact you with repair options and costs. You must approve and pay for out-of-warranty repairs before work begins. If your firearm functions as intended after range testing, a $50 charge plus ammunition costs applies.

NFA Items

For suppressors, short-barreled rifles, or machine guns, include a copy of the corresponding Form 3, 4, 5, or 9 inside the return package. Returns without proper documentation will be rejected.

Fees

  • Test & Evaluation Fee: If no defect is found, a $50 fee plus ammunition and shipping costs will be charged.
  • Packaging Fee: If return packaging is not reusable, a $15 fee applies.
  • Cleaning Fee: Firearms must be clean. A minimum $50 cleaning fee applies if excessive fouling is found. Additional charges may apply as determined by Warranty Services.

Returns & Exchanges

  • Returns (Unused & Sealed) – Accepted within 90 days of purchase. A 15% restocking fee applies.
  • Returns (Opened/Damaged) – A 25% restocking fee applies, or the return may be rejected.
  • Exchanges – Unused, unopened items may be exchanged for full account credit.
  • Non-Returnable Items – Custom-configured products, special orders, used items, clothing, and items sold "as is."
  • Shipping Responsibility – Desert Tech does not cover return shipping costs or lost packages. Use a carrier that provides tracking and insurance.
