SRS Disassembly and Reassembly

Play video: SRS Disassembly and Reassembly

While many DTA shooters have had at least some experience swapping out a forearm or exchanging stock panels, very few of us get an up close and personal look at all the rifle internals like the Desert Tactical Arms Assembly team does.

The benches in Assembly not only see every single new rifle that ever leaves our shop, but they also see a handful of returned rifles for warranty or service issues.

Because they do it so much, we thought it would be cool to have them do a disassembly and reassembly of an SRS, and put together a quick little time lapse video of the entire process. So we rigged up our trusty GoPro, and had them to go for it.

Should we do more shop vids?

A lot of the time we focus on showing rifle performance and shooting videos. But from time to time we also receive requests for videos showing a closer look at internals.

The assembly guys are a really good resource on the nuts and bolts (literally) of DTA Rifles. While this particular video was more of just a quick look at the entire assembly process, we’ve been thinking for a while it might be cool to put together a handful of more in depth vids with them showing tips, DIYs, and basic troubleshooting.

What do you think–would this be helpful? Let us know in the comments if so (or if there’s something specific you’d like them to show).

The .223 Wylde chamber is one of those epitomes of the concept of “happy” medium when it comes to shooting. It was born out of a need to balance engineering for accuracy and pressure.
