The world of military rifle contracts is an intense one. I want to share an inside look at one of the most intense and competitive experiences of my career: the race to design the ultimate sniper rifle for the U.S. military. This was no ordinary challenge—it was an $80 million contract that had companies worldwide pushing the boundaries of innovation.

The SRS Rifles innovation was game changing. It solved all of the problems I hated about conventional rifles and US SOCOM took notice. They immediately rewrote their sniper rifle requirements, and all of the other companies were left behind. These are the problems we faced and how we solved them.

Nineteen years ago I decided to start Desert Tech LLC from scratch with no money, no experience, and no engineering or manufacturing knowledge; This is the journey I went through.
